The EN 54 challenge
EN 54 is the European fire detection equipment standard series, but each EU member state implements it through national legislation that varies significantly. Germany uses DIN 14675, France uses NF S61-936, and so on. Building one platform that correctly addresses all member state implementations requires country-by-country professional verification — which we're working through methodically.
Standards disclaimer
This platform is built primarily for UK fire alarm engineers using BS 5839-1:2017 (post-Brexit, the UK no longer participates in EN standards directly). Content has not been verified against EN 54 or any EU member state's national fire alarm installation standard. EU engineers can use the platform for manufacturer fault codes and site records, but must not rely on it for EN 54 or national regulatory compliance. Always consult the applicable national standard and a qualified professional in your country.
