Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 14 June 2026
Intended users
This service is intended for qualified, competent fire and security engineers. It is a professional aid, not a substitute for training, competence, or manufacturer documentation.
You must not use the service to
- obtain or share engineer/installer access codes, default codes, or PINs, or to bypass, disable, or defeat life-safety functions;
- carry out work beyond your competence, or in place of the manufacturer manual, BS 5839-1, or the site cause & effect / risk assessment;
- act on unverified specifics without confirming them against manufacturer documentation;
- compromise the integrity or availability of any life-safety system.
High-risk functions
Extra caution and site-specific verification are required for suppression release, smoke control, AOVs, lifts, evacuation interfaces, door release/hold-open, plant shutdown, monitoring/ARC, and situations involving multiple simultaneous faults. The assistant will flag these, and such queries may be logged for safety and quality purposes.
Monitoring of use
We may log high-risk queries and usage to maintain a record of the context in which guidance was given, to improve safety, and to investigate misuse. See our Privacy Policy.
