Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 June 2026
1. The service
Incognito Fire & Security Professional provides a searchable fault database, a curated directory of manufacturer resources, and an AI troubleshooting assistant, on a subscription basis. It is a professional guidance aid only and does not replace manufacturer documentation, applicable standards, or the judgement of a competent person.
2. Guidance only — authority hierarchy
The assistant and database are the lowest tier of authority. You must defer, in order, to the manufacturer's manual, BS 5839-1 and other applicable standards, and the site-specific cause & effect and risk assessment, before relying on this service. See our Disclaimer.
3. Eligibility
The service is intended for competent fire and security engineers. By registering you confirm you are using it in a professional capacity and accept these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy.
4. Subscriptions and billing
A free tier provides a limited number of AI questions per day. Full access requires an active subscription (£11.99/month). Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled. You may cancel at any time and access continues until the end of the current billing period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
5. Acceptable use
Your use is subject to our Acceptable Use Policy, including prohibitions on seeking engineer access codes, bypass instructions, or acting on unverified procedures.
6. No warranty and limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any loss, damage, injury, or non-compliance arising from reliance on the service, and nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
7. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms or the service from time to time; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
