HFP AP: Double address fault

Per the manual, the control panel can detect devices set to the same address and will announce a “Double address” fault if it finds any. It cannot tell which devices are double addressed. To help find them, go to access level 2, choose the view devices option, view devices by loop, and check that all the expected devices are listed. If there is one double address fault and one device missing from the expected list, it is fairly certain that the missing one is the one addressed incorrectly. With more than two devices on one address, or more than one double address, use a process of elimination. If a heavily populated loop is disconnected the panel reports all devices disconnected; after reconnection it can be quicker to restart the panel with the Reset switch.

HFP AP: fault events are non-latching

Per the user manual, the Reset button is used to reset any activation defined as a latching input type, which includes fire and pre-alarm events. In general, fault events are non-latching and cannot be cleared by operation of the Reset button: these events clear when the fault input is cleared.

HFP AP: General Fault

The yellow General Fault LED flashes when there is a fault on the system. Other fault LED indications may also be present to identify the nature of the fault. The Fault Contact energises and the panel buzzer sounds continuously; details of the fault are shown in the LCD text display. HFP AP: loop open or short circuit

Per the manual, power is driven from the LOOP OUT terminals and returned to the LOOP IN terminals, where it is monitored for loop continuity. If the loop is open circuit (a cable fault, or a short circuit isolator operated), the panel drives power from both LOOP OUT and LOOP IN, so that despite a single break or short all devices stay connected. In the case of a short circuit, the short circuit isolators isolate the faulty section and the panel reports the devices between the isolators as missing. Both LOOP OUT and LOOP IN connections have short circuit isolation, so a short between those terminals and the first isolator is isolated too. Isolators must be fitted so that a single short or interruption will not prevent the indication of a fire alarm from more than 32 detectors and/or manual call points.

HFP AP: Sounder Fault / Disabled

Combined fault/disablement LED for sounder outputs. Illuminates if a sounder output fault is present, and also illuminates (with the General Disablement indicator) when sounder outputs are deliberately disabled via the Access 2 'Disable Sounders' menu option. HFP AP: system fault message after download

Per the manual, after a configuration is sent back to the panel from the PC (write enable on, then synchronise), the panel shows RECEIVING NEW CONFIGURATION, PLEASE WAIT during the transfer and then the start-up screens. When the transfer has finished, switch the write enable switch off, enter access level 2 and press the front panel reset button to clear the system fault message. The panel then contains the modified configuration.
