ZX: CONFIG MEMORY fault
The manual says that if the memory lock switch is left in the open position for an extended period of time, the panel will report a CONFIG MEMORY fault. It reminds the engineer to lock the memory after commissioning and refers to Section 8 for further information.
ZX: Earth Fault indicator and message
Yellow Earth Fault indicator on the ZX series panel: an earth connection fault has occurred on a cable. To clear it, correct the fault condition and then perform a panel reset (page 7). The alphanumeric display shows a message such as EARTH FAULT TO -VE ON EXTERNAL WIRING, with a negative or positive sign for the polarity of the fault. The manual says the panel will normally continue to work with a single earth fault, which should still be rectified as soon as possible. To locate it, measure the voltage from the battery negative input to the supply board earth input: on a healthy system this reads approximately 1 V; below 0.3 V the panel registers an earth fault to negative and above 1.5 V an earth fault to positive. Disconnect each external cable in turn (sounder wiring, detector loop wiring, auxiliary 24 V output feed): when the faulty cable is disconnected the voltage returns to 1 V (page 55).
