System fault (complete system failure)

Per the manual, in the event of a complete system failure a system fault is indicated: the SYSTEM FAULT and GENERAL FAULT LEDs illuminate and all other LEDs are extinguished; the internal buzzer sounds continuously; the LCD backlight switches off and the text, which shows the last condition, should be ignored; local alarm circuits are silenced if active; all loop devices remain in the condition they were in when the fault occurred, so some sounders may remain active. The manual warns that the system is completely inactive. User action: call your service engineer immediately. Service engineer actions listed: open the outer door, operate the SYSTEM FAULT RESET switch and then the PROCESSOR RESET switch on the motherboard, and observe that the panel restarts and shows the POWER UP DELAY message; if it does not restart properly the panel requires replacement.
The Fault Condition (general response)

Per the manual, a fault is indicated if any part of the system enters an abnormal condition. The COMMON FAULT LED pulses (and the ALARM FAULT/DISABLEMENT LED also pulses if the fault is with an alarm circuit), the internal buzzer sounds continuously, the LCD displays details of the event (for example a zone number with OPT FAULT and the device location), and the event is printed if a printer is fitted. During a fault condition events of lower priority are suppressed. User actions listed: switch the access controls keyswitch on, press SILENCE BUZZER (the FAULT and BUZZER SILENCED LEDs go steady), investigate and rectify the cause, and when it is cleared press RESET to return the system to the quiescent condition.
