General Fault
Not yet verifiedGeneral Fault light
Flashes yellow when there is a fault on any part of the fire alarm system. It is always lit together with at least one other Fault light that shows the precise type of fault detected.
10 fault records for this panel, each labelled with its review status and, where one is cited, the source document it comes from. C-TEC's LPCB-approved CFP 2, 4 and 8 zone standard conventional fire alarm control panel (CFP702-4/CFP704-4/CFP708-4).

General Fault light
Flashes yellow when there is a fault on any part of the fire alarm system. It is always lit together with at least one other Fault light that shows the precise type of fault detected.
Power Supply Fault light
Indicates one or more of: the mains supply is too low or has failed completely; the mains fuse (F1) has ruptured; the battery fuse (F2) has ruptured; the battery supply voltage is too low; or the panel's power supply unit is faulty.
Remote Output Fault light
Flashes yellow when there is a fault on the output's auxiliary 24V supply — typically because the 24V auxiliary output (used to supply relays switched by the remote output) is overloaded and its protection fuse has tripped.
Repeater Fault light
Flashes yellow when the master panel cannot communicate with one or more repeater panels (if fitted). Access level three fault diagnosis shows which repeater(s), by zone light, are in fault.
Sounder Fault light
All sounder circuits are monitored periodically for open- and short-circuit faults (unless disabled or in an alarm condition). If a fault is detected, this light pulses yellow. An unpolarised sounder will also show a sounder fault.
Supply Present light off
If the green Supply Present light is not lit, either both the mains supply and standby batteries have failed, or the Power Supply PCB, the Main Control PCB, or the cable connecting them is faulty.
System Fault: PLL (phase lock loop) Fault
Occurs as a result of a momentary disturbance in the panel's microprocessor. In access level three fault diagnosis this shows as Zone 3's Fault light lit.
System Fault: Site Memory Corruption Fault
Occurs when site-specific data held in the panel's microprocessor is found to be corrupt. In access level three fault diagnosis this shows as Zone 2's Fault light lit.
System Fault: Watchdog Fault
Occurs when the panel's microprocessor has failed to operate correctly; the watchdog circuit attempts to restart it. If it cannot, the General Fault and System Fault lights cycle continuously and the internal sounder activates. In access level three fault diagnosis this shows as Zone 1's Fault light lit.
Zone Fault light (open/short circuit or detector removed)
All zone circuits are monitored for open- and short-circuit faults and detector head removal (unless the zone is in alarm, test or disabled). The relevant Zone Fault light pulses yellow. Access level three fault diagnosis (pressing ACCESS LEVEL THREE FUNCTIONS until the OPEN CIRCUIT or SHORT CIRCUIT light pulses) shows exactly which zone(s) and which of the two fault types.

Records marked “sourced — not yet independently verified” carry a real citation but have not yet completed formal review. Always confirm against the manufacturer's current documentation before acting on site.
