17 fault records for this panel, each labelled with its review status and, where one is cited, the source document it comes from. Haes Technologies 2 to 12 zone conventional fire control panel (Esento Excel, XLEN-2/4/6/8/12).
Power supply fault on connecting mains before batteries
Not yet verified
Power Supply fault for up to 1 minute at power-up
If the mains is connected before the batteries, the panel shows a Power Supply fault for up to 1 minute until the monitoring cycle has finished polling. The manual says this is normal, and to check connections if the fault does not clear after 1 minute.
Power supply fault: battery failure or high impedance
Not yet verified
Power Supply Fault LED: battery failure or high impedance
With the Power Supply Fault LED pulsing, press and hold ENTER (fault diagnosis mode): the LED steady after pressing ENTER means battery failure or high impedance. The specification table (printed page 9) gives the battery high impedance fault (Batt Hi Z) as resistance of 1 ohm or greater, with a 1 hour reporting time.
With the Power Supply Fault LED pulsing, press and hold ENTER (fault diagnosis mode): the LED pulsing after pressing ENTER means mains failure. The location given is the Main PCB.
With the Power Supply Fault LED pulsing, press and hold ENTER (fault diagnosis mode): the LED going off after pressing ENTER means a voltage fault. The location given is the Main PCB.
When a repeater fault is displayed, press and hold ENTER: a slow flash of the Repeater Fault LED indicates a faulty repeater. Red fire LEDs 1 to 8 show which repeater was offline, and amber fault LEDs 1 to 8 show which repeater had a PSU fault.
When a repeater fault is displayed, press and hold ENTER: a normal flash of the Repeater Fault LED indicates the repeater is off line. Red fire LEDs 1 to 8 show which repeater was off line.
Sounder circuit open circuit (fault diagnosis mode)
In fault diagnosis mode (press and hold ENTER), a Zone 1 to 6 Fire LED that is steady after pressing ENTER indicates an open circuit on the matching sounder circuit (Zone 1 and 2 = Main PCB SNDR 1 and 2; Zones 3 to 6 = High Spec Extension Zone Card). A Fire LED that goes off after pressing ENTER means that sounder circuit is OK.
Sounder circuit short circuit (fault diagnosis mode)
When a fault is showing, press and hold ENTER (works only when the panel is not in a fire condition). The Zone 1 to 6 Fire LED that is off before you press ENTER pulses for a short circuit on that sounder circuit: Zone 1 = sounder circuit 1 and Zone 2 = sounder circuit 2 (Main PCB SNDR 1 and 2); Zones 3 to 6 = sounder circuits 3 to 6 on the High Spec Extension Zone Card.
System Fault LED and General Fault LED pulsing with pulsed fault buzzer
System Fault LED pulsing and General Fault LED pulsing along with a pulsed (fault tone) buzzer means a system fault has occurred and the affected board has recovered. The indication remains until the panel is reset.
System Fault LED only, continuous buzzer (display board halted)
A system fault is indicated when a processor controlling a function in the panel has a watchdog time out or processor failure. With only the System Fault LED continuous and a continuous buzzer, display board TPCA03 is halted and no other indication or control is possible. The fault relay and fault output are activated. If a fire occurs, alarm sounders and outputs still function.
System Fault LED continuous, General Fault LED pulsing, continuous buzzer
Per the manual, a continuous System Fault LED with the General Fault LED pulsing and a continuous buzzer means the main board, or the extender card if fitted, is halted. The fault relay is activated, and alarms may be activated on the unaffected board.
System Fault LED continuous, General Fault LED pulsing, Repeater Fault LED continuous
A continuous System Fault LED with the General Fault LED pulsing and the Repeater Fault LED continuous means Comms Board TPCA05 is halted. The fault relay and output are active and repeater panels cease to function. Fire alarms can still be detected and controlled by the panel.
For zones 1 to 4 on the Main PCB, in fault diagnosis mode (press and hold ENTER) the Zone Fault/Disabled/Test LED going off after pressing ENTER, with a slow pulse shown in the table, means a detector has been removed on that zone.
Zone Fault/Disabled/Test LED steady: zone disabled or in test mode
A steady Zone 1 to 4 Fault/Disabled/Test LED (not pulsing) means that zone is disabled or in test mode; pressing ENTER in fault diagnosis mode does not show a fault type for it (N/A for pulsing and steady). The LED going off after pressing ENTER is listed as 'Zone # disabled or in test mode'.
Detection zone open circuit (fault diagnosis mode)
For zones 1 to 4 on the Main PCB, in fault diagnosis mode (press and hold ENTER) the Zone Fault/Disabled/Test LED steady after pressing ENTER means that zone has an open circuit.
Detection zone short circuit (fault diagnosis mode)
For zones 1 to 4 on the Main PCB, the Zone Fault/Disabled/Test LED pulses when there is a fault. In fault diagnosis mode (press and hold ENTER), the LED pulsing after pressing ENTER means that zone has a short circuit.
