Common Advanced Faults

Network fault

Communication failure between networked panels. Check network cable integrity, network card status and panel addressing.

Loop card fault

Loop card not responding or reporting errors. Check card seating, cable connections and loop card firmware.

Device communication error

Panel cannot address a device on the loop. Verify device address, check for wiring faults and loop isolator status.

PSU fault

Mains supply or battery charger issue. Check mains input, charger output and battery condition.

Battery low / flat

Standby battery voltage below threshold. Load test batteries, replace if capacity insufficient for BS 5839-1 standby period.

Sounder fault

Sounder circuit open or short circuit. Check wiring, sounder condition and end-of-line device.

Input / output module fault

I/O module not responding. Verify module address, wiring integrity and module power supply.

Zone disabled

Zone has been manually disabled — confirm with building management and re-enable when safe to do so.

Printer fault

Onboard printer paper empty or paper jam. Check paper supply and clear any obstruction.

Clock / time fault

Panel clock requires resetting. Check battery-backed clock circuit and update time/date.
