Common Notifier Faults

The most frequently encountered fault types on Notifier NFS2 systems. Always verify against current manufacturer documentation.

SLC (Signalling Line Circuit) fault

Communication fault on addressable SLC loop. Check loop wiring, device addresses and isolator status.

Device trouble — open

Open circuit at specific device. Check device wiring and connection integrity.

Ground fault

Wiring has contact with earth. Use ground fault locator to identify fault location and repair insulation.

Detector dirty / maintenance required

Detector contamination level has reached maintenance threshold. Clean or replace detector.

NAC fault

Notification Appliance Circuit (sounder/beacon) fault. Check circuit wiring, EOL device and connected notification appliances.

Battery trouble

Battery voltage or capacity below threshold. Load test and replace batteries.

Mains failure

AC power supply to panel lost. Check supply fusing, breaker and incoming voltage.

Network communication fault

Loss of communication on NOTI•FIRE•NET network. Check network wiring, node addresses and network cards.

Module fault

Input/output module trouble. Verify module address, wiring and power supply.
