The Vigilon range offers extensive cause and effect configuration and integrates with building management systems.
Panel Models Covered
Common Gent Faults
The most frequently encountered fault types on Gent Vigilon systems. Always verify against current manufacturer documentation.
Device removed from loop
Device not responding at expected address. Check head is correctly seated in base, verify address and loop wiring.
Loop short circuit
Short circuit isolators activated on Vigilon loop. Identify fault segment and trace insulation failure.
Loop open circuit
Break in loop wiring. Isolators on either side of break will have opened — use panel fault information to locate segment.
Analogue drift — detector dirty
Optical value elevated due to contamination. Clean detector head with approved method or replace.
Network communication fault
Loss of communication between Vigilon network nodes. Check network cable, terminators and network card status.
PSU fault / mains failure
Mains supply to panel or PSU unit fault. Check supply voltage, fusing and PSU output.
Battery low
Battery voltage or capacity insufficient. Load test and replace batteries if BS 5839-1 standby time cannot be met.
Input module fault
Input monitoring module not responding. Check module address, wiring and power supply.
Output module fault
Output control module fault. Verify wiring to connected device and output module integrity.
Panel log full
Event log at capacity — archive or clear log to restore normal logging. Review events before clearing.
